Over 1,000 representatives from local and regional governments, European and international institutions, multilateral organisations, members of the research community, private sector and civil society will take part in the 8th European Conference on Sustainable Cities and Towns in Bilbao (Basque Country, Spain).
The three-day conference (27-29 April) will be a platform to share ideas and experiences related to urban development, as well as to analyse the key role of cooperation between local governments, the private sector, civil society and the business sector in order to implement comprehensive measures.
Plenaries and subplenaries will address questions such as how cities can trigger innovation to achieve urban transformation, and which norms and standards cities can use. Interactive breakout sessions will cover a wide range of topics to which bio-based products and services could contribute, such as procurement of innovation, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and nature-based cities. Within the innovation market, stakeholders will introduce their solutions, tools and projects on urban sustainability.
